CLOSING DATE: Ongoing LOCATION: Emmaus Mossley TYPE: Trustee

Emmaus Mossley is seeking to appoint a new Treasurer to the Board of Trustees. This is an exciting and important time for our charity as we work to help more people out of homelessness and poverty as part of an ambitious strategy.

About Emmaus Mossley

Emmaus Mossley is a dynamic charity that provides a home, tailored support, training and work opportunities to people who have experienced homelessness. We go beyond just offering a bed for the night; Emmaus provides people with longer-term support, stability, opportunities for personal development, and a strong sense of community.

Emmaus Mossley is an independent local charity that is governed by a board of trustees who all live, work or are invested in the improvement of Tameside, Oldham and its surrounding communities. Whilst our work is focused locally, we are also part of a much wider Emmaus movement.

About the role

The Treasurer plays a critical role in Emmaus Mossley’s financial management, with key responsibilities in budgeting, financial planning, reporting, investments, and governance. As Treasurer, you will oversee the alignment of Emmaus Mossley’s financial planning with its mission and goals, ensuring that annual budgets reflect strategic priorities.

Regular financial reporting is essential for all charities. The Treasurer ensures that accurate management accounts, which compare budgeted and actual figures, are presented promptly. These accounts, detailing income, expenditure, and variances, provide a clear financial picture for the Board of Trustees, supporting informed decision-making and effective financial control.
