Emmaus Merseyside has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer, Chair of Trustees and Vice Chair to oversee the running of the charity.
Marc Bamber, Joanne Henney and Neina Cave have started their new roles at Emmaus Merseyside. New Chief Operating Officer, Marc Bamber, has joined Emmaus Merseyside after serving as Area Retail Operations Manager at Emmaus Preston for three years. Marc will oversee operations at our community building and social enterprise, establishing new partnerships and further developing the charity.
Marc commented: “I’m really excited to have started this new role at Emmaus Merseyside and delighted to have joined a team that is as passionate and determined as I am to help people break the cycle of homelessness.
“Emmaus communities can turn people’s lives around and that is my hope for everyone who is supported at Emmaus Merseyside. We have some exciting future plans to develop this thriving community and make a positive contribution to Sefton, Merseyside and beyond.”
Joanne Henney has taken up the role of Chair of Trustees at Emmaus Merseyside. In addition to this role, Joanne is Chief Governance Officer at Liverpool charity Nugent, the largest education, health and social care charity in Liverpool. Joanne brings to Emmaus a wealth of experience from more than 20 years working in the charity and justice sectors. Supporting Joanne will be Vice Chair, Neina Cave, who has been on the board of trustees at Emmaus Merseyside for five years.
Joanne Henney, Chair of Emmaus Merseyside, said: “I am honoured to have been appointed as Chair, following three years as a Trustee. I am excited about working together with Trustees to support Marc, the staff team and companions to achieve brighter futures.”
Our charity provides a home, training, work opportunities and individual support to people who have experienced homelessness. Everyone supported at Emmaus Merseyside works within our social enterprise at one of three charity stores in Sefton and Liverpool. All of the money generated from our social enterprise is then re-invested to support formerly homeless people.
