Staff from Liverpool law firm Brabners LLP have continued their support of Emmaus Merseyside by completing a volunteer day in the charity’s Participation Garden.

On Saturday 30 March, a team of four employees from Brabners spent the day working alongside community members of Emmaus Merseyside to paint 150 boundary posts. The staff also had lunch with beneficiaries of the charity and had a tour of the community building, learning more about the support offered to formerly homeless people.

Andrius Roos, Legal Director at Brabners, who attended both days’ volunteering, said: “We at Brabners were delighted by what a friendly place Emmaus is and how well the operation is run, largely by its own residents. It is encouraging and heart-warming to see the difference the charity makes to people’s lives. All of us attending agreed that the model used is forward looking in its efficacy. It is clearly a winning recipe for Emmaus and we are very happy to support them in any way we can.”

Emmaus Merseyside supports formerly homeless people by providing them with a stable home and meaningful work for as long as they need it. The charity runs a social enterprise selling donated furniture, clothes, books, bikes, household goods and upcycled products, from three retail outlets.

The purchase of the boundary posts was funded by the Regenerus Environmental Improvements Fund. These posts will be used around Seaforth Green, next to the Emmaus Merseyside community building, enhancing the public space for the wider community.

Honora Crisp, Business Manager at Emmaus Merseyside, said: “We are extremely grateful to the staff from Brabners who volunteered their Saturday to help out with our community project on Seaforth Green. The continued support we have received from Brabners is greatly appreciated by all at Emmaus Merseyside.”
