Solidarity in Medway

One of the most important parts of the Emmaus ethos is solidarity. This means working to help someone less fortunate than yourself.

In Medway, we are able to show solidarity in a number of ways:

  • each winter we provide the logistics support to the Medway Night Shelter
  • we provide storage and support to One Big Family
  • a number of our Companions volunteer their time at the One Big Family Winter Refuge

However, most of our solidarity work is done throughout the year as we work with partners to supply free furniture to vulnerable families, mostly providing beds, sofas and dining tables. By the end of 2019 we will have:

  • supported 60 families and individuals through this scheme
  • donated goods up to £500/month

If you believe we could assist you with, or you are working with a family who might benefit from, this service, please drop Nikki Williams an email at nikki.williams@emmausmedway.org

If you would like to help us fundraise for this work then you can as our Director, Martin, and our Support Manager, Chris, are running the Royal Parks Half-Marathon. Please donate here.
