5 Emmaus charity shop outfits for the festive season
Each outfit took roughly 15 minutes to put together, and no particular skills are needed for you to try your hand at designing your own - just an interest in fashion, thrifting and vintage clothing.
1. The Sequinned Party Look
Hayley kicked off her first outfit with a classic Little Black Dress. A staple piece in most wardrobes, the LBD is a timeless classic that never goes out of fashion - and what's even better than a dress that suits every occasion? Picking it up for a bargain price in an Emmaus charity shop!
Hayley's top tip for styling your sequinned part look is to keep the rest of the outfit simple due to the detail on the dress. She opted to use silver accents when selecting the necklace and shoes, and the accompanying bag has a delicate silver brooch detail which sets off the outfit. Perfect!
2. The Trouser Look
The winter weather has officially arrived, bringing the perfect time to dress up trousers for a Christmas party – elegance combined with warmth! Equally some women prefer not to show their legs on a night out, so the trouser look is a win win all year round.
Hayley chose a funky pair of leather-look trousers and kept the footwear simple with a pair of classic court shoes. The boned under bust top helps enhance shape, and the necklace is perfect to add a little festive sparkle.
3. The Vintage Look
Hayley was feeling inspired by 80's vintage fashion for her third look, with a classic puff sleeve top and peplum skirt. The power dressing of the 80's was all about big shoulders, and even bigger hair - and this dress does not disappoint on the shoulder front with the flattering bunched sleeves.
Keeping with the theme of our challenge, the shimmery material is another nod to the festive season, dressed with a string of beads and an 80's-style patent clutch bag.
4. The Modern Look
Hayley's fourth look is vibrant and fun, with a green dress to make sure you get noticed when you arrive at the party - bonus points for Emmaus green too! To keep the look on trend, Hayley has paired the dress with little buttoned booties, and completed the look with a satin bag with bow detail.
5. The Cocktail Look
While the LBD is a reliable go-to outfit, some occasions require a bit of glamour and Hayley's fifth outfit is a timeless look for any party.
The dress has ruffle detail around the bottom and pleating to the waist to ensure that hourglass shape. It's paired with a grey faux fur shrug to add that winter touch, as well as a multi-string beaded necklace and a small beaded bag for extra glamour.
All money raised in our Emmaus charity shops goes directly back into running of our community - supporting formerly homeless people to rebuild their self-esteem and move on with their lives.
