Van Appeal: Help us buy a new charity van

Our van is the lifeblood of our Hinckley-based homelessness charity, but after more than 10 years it’s spending more time in the garage than on the road. Every donation helps us keep changing lives in Hinckley and beyond.

Why we need your help to replace our van

We urgently need to raise £18,000 to buy a reliable second-hand van. Our current van is more than a decade old and often off the road for repairs. It’s absolutely essential to everything we do!

Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland is a Hinckley-based homelessness charity working across Leicestershire and Rutland. Since 2012, we’ve provided a home, tailored support, and work opportunities to people who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness. Our Emporium charity shop helps fund this work by selling furniture and homeware collected from local homes and businesses.

What makes Emmaus unique is that the people we support don’t just receive help – they play an active role in running our charity. They help run both our Emporium shop and the van-based collection and delivery service. This gives them real work experience, new skills, and a chance to rebuild confidence while directly contributing to Emmaus.

When the van is off the road, we have to turn away donations and sometimes hire a replacement – costing money and making it harder to keep the Emporium stocked.

Make your donation

Visit our Justgiving page to make a secure donation online and see how close we are to our £18,000 target.

Every donation, big or small, helps us keep good-quality furniture in use and supports people in Hinckley and across Leicestershire and Rutland as they rebuild their lives after facing homelessness.

Sponsorship opportunities for businesses

We’re also inviting local businesses to sponsor the new van. Your company name could be featured on the vehicle as it travels around Leicestershire and Rutland – supporting your local homelessness charity and helping keep vital services running. We’d love to have a chat about this opportunity – email us at [email protected]
