Van Appeal: Help us buy a new charity van

Our van is the lifeblood of our Hinckley-based homelessness charity, but after more than 10 years it’s spending more time in the garage than on the road. Every donation helps us keep changing lives in Hinckley and beyond.

As the cold weather hits, our Hinckley homelessness charity is asking local people for help because our shop is running out of stock.

Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland’s Emporium, on Stockwell Head, is a charity shop specialising in household goods. There’s been an unexpected drop in secondhand furniture being donated during the recent cold weather, so we’re launching a special appeal for stock.

We offer a free furniture collection service from homes and businesses in Hinckley and across much of Leicestershire.

We’re asking local people to take a look around their home – perhaps in lofts, garages or sheds – for unwanted items of furniture. If it’s in a re-sellable condition, do give us a call and we’ll come and collect it for free.

Homelessness happens all year round, but as the cold weather hits, it’s more important than ever that we’re able to continue our work supporting local people who’ve been homeless. The funds raised by our Emporium shop help ensure we’re able to offer a warm, safe home, as well as meaningful work and much-needed support, for as long as it is needed.

To book a free collection for unwanted furniture, please call us 01455 637587 or book online.

Many thanks for your support.
