We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Dawn Wright as the new Director of our homelessness charity Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland.

Dawn brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience having worked in the charitable sector for over 20 years at both local and national levels. Prior to joining Emmaus, Dawn has managed several charities including Coping with Cancer in Leicestershire & Rutland and most recently worked as the Director of Services at Headway, the brain injury association.

Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland supports 16 people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion. Our Hinckley-based charity provides a safe home for as long someone needs it, plus daily support, meaningful work, funded training, and the opportunity to gain new skills. Our Emporium shop on Stockwell Head in Hinckley raises vital funds, as well as offering work experience and a sense of purpose to those being supported.

Our charity is looking forward to celebrating our 10th anniversary later this year.

Dawn will be overseeing our current operations, continuing our work supporting people to overcome homelessness and social exclusion.

Speaking about her appointment, Dawn said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland during its 10th anniversary year. It’s a real privilege to be given the opportunity to work with the people we support and our staff team, and I look forward to the future and what it holds for us.”
