We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our Board of Trustees in two key voluntary roles: Honorary Treasurer and Charity Trustee.

Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland provides a home, support, training and work opportunities for people who have faced homelessness, helping them rebuild their lives.

Honorary Treasurer

We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in financial management to oversee the financial aspects of our charity. The Honorary Treasurer will play a crucial role in ensuring our long-term sustainability and effective financial planning.

Key responsibilities include:
✔ Providing professional financial advice and support
✔ Attending and contributing to trustee meetings
✔ Leading monthly finance sub-committee meetings
✔ Reviewing board papers and accompanying documents prior to meetings
✔ Suggesting practical ideas to overcome upcoming challenges
✔ Working collaboratively with fellow trustees

The ideal candidate will have expertise in finance or accounting, an awareness of charity and/or social enterprise governance, and experience in organisational development. Good people skills and experience within a team are essential.

The role requires attending board meetings every six weeks in Hinckley and participating in two working groups: Income Generation and Property Development.

Charity Trustee

We are also looking for volunteer trustees to help guide our charity’s development. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in the following areas:

✔ Social Care
✔ Housing
✔ HR
✔ Fundraising
✔ Business Operations
✔ IT
✔ Legal
✔ Retail & Online Sales

Trustees attend board meetings every six weeks in Hinckley and contribute to at least one of our working groups: Income Generation or Property Development.
