CLOSING DATE: 4 January 2023 LOCATION: Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland SALARY: £10.50ph (£13,104 per annum) TYPE: Part time - 24 hours per week

Do you want to help people to rebuild their lives?

We’re looking for a highly motivated individual to offer support and guidance to people who have experienced homelessness and help them to find a positive way to move forward with their lives.

Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland is a non-religious organisation offering formerly homeless and socially excluded people, known as companions, an opportunity to work with us to rebuild their lives.

Unlike many homelessness charities, we don’t just offer companions a bed for the night. Instead we offer a home for as long as someone needs it, as well as meaningful work in a social enterprise. This combination of a stable home and having something to do every day helps to restore lost self-esteem and gives companions the time and space to be able to deal with any problems they may have experienced in the past.  Our support Officer is responsible for assisting companions and their welfare and wellbeing. This involves carrying out risk assessments, inductions, carrying out support sessions, liaising with the social enterprise to ensure companions are gaining meaningful training and development in their work, building relationships with agencies in the area to provide specialist help.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled support worker, who has a ‘can-do’ attitude and really wants to make a difference.

  • Salary of 13,104.00 per annum £10.50 ph
  • Working Hours – 24 hours per week
  • Annual Leave – 33 days per annum, inc 8 bank holidays (pro rata)
