We’re excited to announce that Burbage resident Marina Newman has launched her own range of eco-friendly greetings cards, all raising funds for our Hinckley-based charity Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland.

Self-proclaimed nature lover Marina created the cards using a mix of photography, upcycled vintage paper and watercolours. Each is printed using sustainable ink and card.

“I decided to do something to raise money for Emmaus because they’re based in Hinckley and help local people turn their lives around. It’s great that the formerly homeless people they support are not only given a home, but also the chance to do meaningful work.

“My card designs all reflect my love of being outside and feature my favourite animals and peaceful natural scenes. Being out in nature makes me more aware of my environment and all of us who live in it. This is something I can do to help improve other people’s lives.”

The full range of ‘Nature is the Theme’ greetings cards is now available to order online at www.natureisthetheme.co.uk with 20% of proceeds going to Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland (after printing costs).

We’re extremely grateful to Marina for her support, and we hope that our supporters enjoy this beautiful range of cards as much as we do.

Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland provides a home, support and meaningful work for 16 formerly homeless individuals. Some stay for a while as they gain confidence and skills before they are ready to move on to independent living; others require longer-term support and are able to stay for as long as they need to. Those supported at the community live together and help to run the Emporium charity shop, in addition to the La Boutique shop on Hinckley’s Castle Street.
