Are you active on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok? Want to use and develop your skills for a worthwhile cause? If so, we need your help to raise the profile of Emmaus Leeds online. Give your support as a Social Media Volunteer to help us engage and grow our community of supporters to enable our charity to provide a home and life-changing support to people who have experienced homelessness.
Main duties
- Research and create content for different social media channels
- Capture quality images and videos within our Secondhand Superstore
- Draft warm-hearted messages to engage supporters
- Support the regional and national Emmaus campaigns.
Skills and experience needed
We’re looking for a dedicated individual with experience of Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
- Good written ability and communication skills
- Interest in photography and film and a keen eye for detail
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic and a positive, can-do attitude
- Knowledge of digital marketing and public relations is also desirable.
Time commitment
We are looking for new volunteers who can commit to visiting our Secondhand Superstore on at least one day per week (between the hours of 9:30am and 4pm).
Training, support and benefits
- As an Emmaus Leeds volunteer you will be given a full induction when you start
- A staff member and companion will support you throughout your time as a volunteer
- We will offer you an opportunity to develop your skills and experience for a worthwhile cause
- We will look to provide further training where possible
- We will pay for volunteer travel expenses within the Leeds area
- We will provide you with a full lunch on the days that you volunteer.
