Emmaus Leeds has received a special donation from local Leeds locksmith Andrew Dunn of Lemon Locksmith and Security.

Andrew contacted Emmaus Leeds and offered to fundraise after realising how important it was to have a safe place to go to late at night. He told us ‘I often have to go out at night and let people into their properties who have lost their keys. Many people are distraught at been stuck outside their house for a few hours. It was at that point that I thought to myself, if having no home to go into for just a few hours can cause such distress, then imagine how homeless people feel who have no home to go to at all!

While driving round at night I often see homeless people sleeping outside and I thought it would be good to do something to help.”

The £250 donation was raised by Lee throughout two weeks in February 2022, when he decided to donate all of his income from late night lock outs to Emmaus Leeds.

General Manager Gina Morisson said; “On behalf of all at Emmaus Leeds we want to say a huge thank you to Andrew for his fundraising efforts. The money will go towards supporting all the companions as they rebuild their lives and is very much appreciated.”
