CLOSING DATE: 18 September 2020 LOCATION: Emmaus Leeds SALARY: £18,159 per annum TYPE: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

We’re working together to end homelessness and looking for a new Support Worker to join our team.

Emmaus Leeds is a charity providing a home and meaningful work to people who have experienced homelessness. Unlike many homelessness charities, we don’t just offer people a bed for the night. We support 28 formerly homeless people, offering them a stable home, work, personal development and an opportunity to find a long-term route out of homelessness.

Emmaus Leeds is an independent charity that is part of a secular, worldwide movement that exists to fight poverty, homelessness and other forms of social exclusion.

What does the role involve?

The role will involve supporting individuals to help them achieve their goals and move forward positively. We’re looking for someone who can provide support to help us empower and enable companions (as our beneficiaries are known).

You will need to be a good team player who can work effectively under pressure, whilst supporting a diverse group of people. Assisting in the day to day running of the community, you will provide structured and holistic support to Emmaus Leeds companions. You will have effective interpersonal skills as well as strong administration and time management skills, and the personal resilience to work with a challenging client group.

The salary for the role is £18,159 per year for a 5 day working week.  This will initially be working 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours), but hours may change over time to cover Saturdays. We provide a range of employee benefits including a generous pension package and 25 days holiday per year.

If you would like to join a dynamic and successful charity and have the relevant experience, drive and enthusiasm, we want to hear from you. The position will be subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring check for work with vulnerable adults.
