Emmaus Leeds has received a £7,500 funding boost from housing provider Leeds Flower Fund Homes.
Leeds Flower Fund Homes is an organisation that provides low-cost housing for elderly people in Leeds. The housing provider awards donations to other worthwhile charities and this year, Emmaus Leeds was selected as the nominated charity.
Richard Wharton, Director at Leeds Flower Fund Homes, said: “Emmaus provides a wonderful service in Leeds and we at the Leeds Flower Fund are very happy to support such a worthwhile cause.”
The funding will be used by Emmaus Leeds to provide a home and life-changing support to help people progress after homelessness. From our 26-bedroom residential community, Emmaus offers a stable home, food, facilities and a wider package of support to help people move on from homelessness for good.
Gina Morrison, Executive Lead of Emmaus Leeds said: “Everyone involved in our charity was very surprised and grateful to receive such a gift. The kind support from Leeds Flower Fund Homes will make a meaningful difference to our charity and residents.
“The funds will go towards the ongoing costs of sustaining a home for 26 people and also the valuable training and opportunities to help people progress in their lives.”
Emmaus Leeds offers a stable home, tailored support and life-changing opportunities to enable people to break the cycle of homelessness. The charity works to harness everyone’s potential – building on people’s skills and abilities to boost their self-confidence, life skills and options for the future.
