The companions at Emmaus Leeds have recently embraced a more active lifestyle, thanks to the efforts of Nicky, one of the organisation’s van drivers.

Nicky, who has always been passionate about fitness, began encouraging the companions to join him for Saturday morning park runs. The idea quickly took off, with many companions lacing up their trainers and hitting the park for some fresh air and exercise.

Building on the momentum of the park runs, the companions have now formed an Emmaus Leeds football team. Every Tuesday, the team competes in the Tuesday League at Football World in Leeds. While the team has faced some tough challenges and has been on a losing streak recently, their spirits remain high. The players are determined to improve their game, and with Nicky’s encouragement, they’re confident that victories are on the horizon.

Emmaus Leeds is proud of the companions’ commitment to staying active and working together as a team. Whether it’s in the park or the football field, these activities are building a strong sense of community and camaraderie among the companions!
