Emmaus Lambeth’s trustees have overall responsibility for the work that we do. They make sure we fulfil our legal requirements, that we have a clear set of goals and are doing what we were set up to do. Our trustees come from all walks of life, sharing their skills and knowledge in a voluntary capacity.

 

Jon Pallas joined Emmaus Lambeth in 2009 as a volunteer fundraiser, and became Chair of Trustees in May 2010. He is a passionate supporter of the Emmaus principles which combine a secure home environment with meaningful and worthwhile work. Outside of Emmaus, Jon is an HR professional and has worked in senior roles across UK, Europe and the USA. He is currently HR Director for Coveris, a leading packaging firm based in the UK employing over 2,500 people in 15 manufacturing sites. He lives in West London with his wife and 2 teenage daughters.

Claire Burton is Head of Corporate Responsibility at Deloitte. Claire leads the firm’s community and volunteering initiatives including their Skills and Education programmes with Teach First, their charitable relationships and their support to social enterprise through the Deloitte Social Innovation Pioneers programme. Claire loves cooking and is a keen runner. She joined our Board in July 2013.

Nathaniel Collins joined the Board in March 2020.

Steven Harmer joined the Board in May 2019.

Tess Le joined the Board in September 2019.

Robert Lee has a career in airline management with first with British Airways then as a consultant. He also had several years as a magistrate sitting on the Richmond and then the South West London Bench. In his spare time he enjoys walking, travelling and watching sport. He has seen England lose at cricket in 5 continents and his ambition is to see Manchester City in the Champions League final. He joined our Board in March 2018.

Siân Nicholson joined as a Trustee of Emmaus Lambeth in 2017. Siân is Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager for Myeloma UK, managing relationships with major donors, corporate partners and trusts. Previously Siân worked at Spires, a day centre in Streatham who work closely with Emmaus, where she developed her passion for supporting homeless people. Siân enjoys running, good food and long walks.

Protima Sikdar-Wood joined as Trustee of Emmaus Lambeth in 2017. She is a commercial property solicitor and also the Head of the Not for Profit Sector at Morrisons Solicitors LLP. Having spent time volunteering and getting to know the companions, Protima became passionate about the work that Emmaus does in trying to assist companions get out of a catch22 situation by giving them a home and a place to work to help them get back on the ladder. In her spare time, Protima likes to bake and take long walks in the countryside.

Fiona Sumner joined the Board in May 2019.
