Are you active on Instagram, TikTok and other social media platforms? Do you want to develop your social media marketing skills for a local charity? We’re looking for a creative Social Media Volunteer to help us engage Emmaus supporters and reach new supporters. The role will involve capturing, drafting and producing content that will showcase Emmaus Hull & East Riding to a range of audiences. If you have time to spare, skills to give and want to support a local homelessness charity, then we want to hear from you.
Main duties
- Research and create content for different social media channels
- Capture images and film clips within our community and social enterprise
- Draft, produce and schedule content to engage our supporters
- Support local and national Emmaus charity campaigns
- Promote public understanding of the work of Emmaus.
Skills and experience needed
- Knowledge of Instagram and TikTok business pages
- Experience using social media as an organisation
- Good written ability and communication skills
- An interest in photography and/or short-form film
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic and a positive, can-do attitude
- Knowledge of marketing and public relations is also desirable.
Time commitment
Our charity stores are open six days per week, and we are looking for new volunteers who can commit to at least one day per week. This role can be done in part remotely, but we still need someone who can visit us for an hour or two each week to capture content.
