At Emmaus Hull & East Riding, our mission is to help people rebuild their lives after homelessness and to provide support for those experiencing it. We achieve this through our residential community, The Orchard, where people are offered a safe home, tailored support, and opportunities to develop skills and confidence. In addition, our Outreach service provides support to people who are homeless across the East Riding.
In 2025, Emmaus Hull & East Riding supported a total of 183 people on their journeys away from homelessness. This includes 64 people who were provided with a warm and stable home, their own bedroom, food and tailored support at The Orchard. A further 119 individuals received support from our dedicated Outreach team.
Beyond residential support, we help people as they take the next steps in life. This year, 42 people moved on into their own accommodation, supported throughout the process by our team. A further 11 people secured employment, a huge milestone that helps build long term independence and stability.
Across the year, our support staff delivered 4,160 hours of one-to-one support conversations. These sessions empower people to make decisions and set personal goals. In 2025, 64 people created their own development plans, taking ownership of their future.
Alongside accommodation and daily support, practical help remains a vital part of rebuilding a stable life. In 2025:
Training and skill building continues to be an essential part of the support we offer. This year, the people we supported completed an impressive 304 training courses, both online and in person. Whether building confidence, gaining qualifications, or exploring new skills, each achievement represents a positive step toward a brighter future, well done to you all!
As 2025 comes to a close, we want to recognise the hard work and dedication of everyone at Emmaus Hull & East Riding, companions, volunteers, staff, and trustees, and to express our gratitude to all our friends, supporters, and partners.
This year’s progress shows what can be achieved through collaboration, and it wouldn’t be possible without your ongoing support. I look forward to continuing this work and building on this success in the year ahead.
