Chief Executive: Tony Ferrier


Our CEO has responsibility for the financial sustainability and strategic development of Emmaus Hertfordshire. Tony has keen interests in endurance and distance cycling, scuba diving, and playing his guitar. Tony has worked for the charity since 2011, having previously volunteered for a year.

The Support Team


Our Community Support Managers and Support Workers are responsible for the support of our 35 companions and vulnerable volunteers.  They provide 1:1 support for all 35 companions, risk assess all potential new companions and organise training courses and activities. We also have a very special member of the support team who you may have seen on our Facebook page, Honey the one eyed Labrador!

The Business Team


Our Retail Manager supports the day-today running of our six stores and numerous services offered across Hertfordshire. Karina also processes solidarity package requests, stock rotation and line management of our shop managers and van drivers. Karina was originally our Barnet shop manager and was promoted to this new role in 2017.

BeckyOur four Shop Managers have individual responsibility for Tring, Hemel Hempstead, Barnet and Hertford stores. They help companions and volunteers to sort, price and sell our second-hand furniture. Becky Docwra, our Barnet Shop Manager used to be one of our companions and after a two year apprenticeship with Emmaus Hertfordshire was appointed as a Shop Manager.

Our two Van Drivers support the delivery and collections services for Barnet and Hertford. Martin Allen, our Barnet driver also used to be a companion before he was offered the position of van driver in 2017.

The Operations Team


Hugo the pugOur Operations Manager juggles all of the contracts, licences, finances and logistics of running a charity and social enterprise with six shops, two accommodation buildings and nine vehicles! Lin, along with her two gorgeous pugs Fig and Hugo, deals with most enquiries.


Our Maintenance Supervisor Ed ensures that our big old building in St Albans, and our other five retail premises all continue to look ship shape. Ed also used to be a companion many years ago, but came back to work for Emmaus in our workshop.

Community kitchen






Our Kitchen Manager, Richard works in our accommodation kitchen, supporting companions to provide three balanced meals per day, to our 35 companions and volunteers. Richard also supports companions with food hygiene training and cookery skills.
