Do you have van driving experience and knowledge of the local area? We’re looking for people with van driving skills to help out one day or more each week. By volunteering to drive our vans you’ll be helping Emmaus Hertfordshire carry out our charitable work across the county.

Our collection & delivery and house clearance services help our charity generate the vital funding needed to help provide a home, support and work opportunities for up to 39 people with experience of homelessness. Join us today and help make a difference.

Main duties:

  • Vehicle checks
  • Crew management
  • Completing paperwork for collections and deliveries
  • Unloading and loading the vans, with support
  • Processing and warehousing the collected items
  • Assisting with house clearances & waste management

Skills required:

  • We’re looking for a dedicated individual with good people skills
  • Full, clean driving licence and knowledge of the local area
  • Experience of driving a large van
  • Team work and customer focused
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and a positive attitude

Time commitment:

We are looking for a volunteer that will commit to at least 1 day per week (9:30am-4pm). The days will need to fall between Monday and Saturday but we can be flexible in terms of what day(s) these will be.
