A huge Thank You to our wonderful Patrons, Lord Charles Cecil and Lady Virginia Cecil for hosting a beautiful lunch at The Old Palace, Hatfield Park, for us on Friday (November 15).
The lunch was an opportunity for us to thank some of the fantastic people we work with for their ongoing support, and a chance for them to hear first-hand, how that support has changed the lives of companion, Ben, and former companion, Graham.
Our Chief Executive, Duncan Lewis said: “A heartfelt thank you to our Patrons Lord and Lady Cecil for hosting a wonderful lunch in the stunning surroundings of The Old Palace.
“It was an honour and a privilege to have lunch in such an historic and fascinating location and be given the opportunity to thank our supporters for their vital contributions to our charity – we just couldn’t do it without them.
“Thanks also to companion Ben and former companion Graham for bravely sharing their personal stories, highlighting the positive impact Emmaus Hertfordshire has on the lives of people affected by homelessness.
“We look forward to continuing working in partnership with our valued supporters and to making a difference to those experiencing homelessness across Hertfordshire.”
A BIG thank you to the following supporters who attended on Friday:
Annie Brewster JP – High Sheriff of Hertfordshire
Sally Burton – former High Sheriff of Hertfordshire

Home to Lord Charles Cecil and Lady Virginia Cecil, The Old Palace was built in around 1485 by the Bishop of Ely, John Morton.
Henry VIII acquired the Palace from the Bishop of Ely in 1538 and used it as a nursery for his three children. It is with Elizabeth I that the Palace is most closely associated. She enjoyed a happy childhood there, sharing in her brother Edward’s education.
