We are lucky to have built an amazing partnership with international fragrance company, CPL Aromas, which has made a huge difference to our charity, both on a local and national level.
In September 2023, CPL Aromas donated £25,000 to us and we used this generous donation to increase the capacity and capability in our Support Team, providing companions with more personal development support and training opportunities.
The Bishop’s Stortford-based fragrance house donated a further £25,000 to Emmaus UK, to fund its national Positive Approaches programme which was rolled out in partnership with Homeless Link to our 29 communities. The programme is providing communities with toolkits and training sessions to support our work on ending homelessness.
Donation of £50,000
Less than a year later in June 2024, CPL Aromas supported us with a donation of £50,000 which funded a brand-new role – Community Support Manager. Stepping into this vital role was Harley Scott, who now leads the team providing specialist tailored support to our companions, some with complex needs, such as addiction and trauma. This vital support is all thanks to the generosity of CPL Aromas.
The fragrance house also donated a further £50,000 to Emmaus UK at the same time, to support national initiatives, doubling its support to our charity in less than a year.
St Albans Sleepout support
In November 2024, a fantastic team of 17 of CPL Aromas staff and family slept out for us at the St Albans Sleepout, raising over £2,500 and helping to make it our most successful yet!
As well as this incredible financial support, we have developed an ongoing relationship that has proved valuable for both CPL Aromas staff, and our companions. In October 2023, CPL hosted a fascinating and fun scent workshop for our companions, staff and volunteers, which included making their own shower gels from their favourite scents. We reciprocated by joining their Global Marketing and Development Seminar, in 2024 and 2025, where companions hosted a mosaic making workshop and participated in a Q&A about their experiences of homelessness, highlighting how CPL’s support for Emmaus was helping them to rebuild their lives.
Work experience
Most recently, CPL Aromas gave one of our companions, Adie, the fantastic opportunity to join the team – taking on work experience at their Bishops Stortford Headquarters. Adie will be working there three days a week for three months, giving her invaluable experience within this fascinating industry.
