We are thrilled to announce that Emmaus Hertfordshire will soon be opening a new shop in St Albans city centre!

Located in the former Virgin Money bank building on St Peters Street, our new store promises to offer a unique shopping experience, featuring an eclectic range of restored and upcycled furniture, clothing, homewares, small electricals, vinyl records and vintage treasures.

The opening of our new store comes just 20 months after our much-loved ‘Out of the Emmaus Workshop’ shop closed its doors. That store, also in St Peters Street, showcased the incredible upcycling and restoration work created by the people Emmaus Hertfordshire supports – our companions. The new shop will continue this tradition of celebrating creativity and sustainability, with the added benefit of a larger, more modern space.

Gemma Beckett, our Business Development Manager said: “It’s fantastic to be back in St Albans, and we’re delighted to have the keys to our new shop – our fifth in Hertfordshire. This wouldn’t have been possible without amazing local support.

“Particular thanks to Daisy Cooper MP and St Albans City and District Council, who have been so supportive in our search for new premises in the town centre, and to all our wonderful customers. We’re hugely grateful for the encouragement that brought us back here.”

A Diverse Mix of Preloved Treasures & Handcrafted Goods

Emmaus Hertfordshire’s new St Albans shop will stock an exciting array of second-hand items, restored and upcycled by our companions in the Emmaus workshop. From vintage home décor and furniture to clothing, homewares, and small electricals, there will be something for everyone.

Handmade ethically sourced items

The shop will also feature a new range of handmade goods from our friends at Emmaus India, including unique gifts like handmade baskets, silk shawls, reusable shopping bags and cosmetic bags – perfect for those searching for ethically sourced, one-of-a-kind presents.

We are excited to offer a diverse selection of products that reflect the creativity, craftsmanship and sustainable values that Emmaus Hertfordshire and our global movement, stands for. Whether you’re looking for a quirky vintage find, a beautifully restored piece of furniture, or a special gift, our new shop is the place to be.
