Emmaus supports people to work their way out of homelessness.
Emmaus provides a home and meaningful work for as long as someone needs it.
You can make a difference, by donating, getting involved or visiting one of our shops.
Emmaus communities provide a home and meaningful work to people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion. Anyone can apply, no need for a referring agent. Your application will be assessed by one of our support team and those we think Emmaus can help, will be invited in for an interview and a tour of the community. If you are in need of immediate support or shelter, please visit www.shelter.org.uk
Apply to Emmaus nowEmmaus Hertfordshire has 41 rooms in total for companions in our St Albans Community.
We provide meals, basic clothing, a television, companionship and a weekly allowance plus holiday and travel allowances. In return, we ask you to volunteer five days a week in our second-hand shops. It is through this work that we earn money to run the community and it also helps you to move on to employment. You will also have to sign off all benefits and live by the community’s rules.
