Emmaus Hertfordshire is taking part in the 2.6 Challenge. You will see it all over the TV and news papers soon. As The London Marathon has been cancelled this year due to coronavirus, this national event has been created to help Charities raise money to fill the gap.
You can get sponsored or donate directly as part of the 2.6 Challenge. When fundraising or donating, please pick Emmaus St Albans on the Just Giving fundraising option and raise money to support our work with the homeless.

As we have already mentioned, all of our charity shops are temporarily closed, resulting in an ongoing loss of over 70% of the funds required to keep our charity going. We have 30 formerly homeless people under our care at the moment, and we want to be able to continue our work in the future. The coronavirus pandemic is putting that risk.
There are tonnes of fun ideas already, but the choice is yours. You could run around your garden as a family for 2.6 miles, you could do 26 press ups, you could bench press 26 kilos with the kids, the kids could do 26 star jumps. Whatever it is, its got to be based around the number 26 or 2.6. We want to see your pictures and videos as you carry out your challenges, so tag us in your posts @stalbansemmaus.
But, whilst doing all of these truly wonderful activities, please be safe and maintain social distancing! Follow the London Marathon page for inspiration and motivation.

You will find us on the Just Giving platform. Don’t forget to select Emmaus St Albans as your cause and get involved. We would love to know about the weird and wonderful ideas you come up with. Tell us about them and have fun.
How do I get involved?
No need to be a marathon runner to take part – this is a challenge for all ages and abilities. Just get thinking of an activity based around the numbers 26 or 2.6 and complete it on or from Sunday April 26.
And don’t worry if you’re not able to get out your house or flat for now. We’re not looking for superheroes – we’re looking for Emmaus Hertfordshire Home Heroes.
There are no rules (apart from the Government guidelines on how to exercise safely during this time). Whatever you can do, you can be part of it – the main thing is getting active, having fun and donating whatever you can to help save the UK’s charities.
A huge, huge thanks from Emmaus Hertfordshire
