Do you love being physically active and like getting out and about? We’re looking for a Van Crew Volunteer to help collect and deliver furniture around Hampshire, and to and from our Emmaus Hampshire charity stores. If you have time to spare, skills to give and want to support a local homelessness charity, then we want to hear from you.

Main duties

  • Completing deliveries and collections of furniture
  • Safely loading and unloading the vans working as part of a 2 or 3 person team
  • Route finding and navigation
  • Interacting with Emmaus customers and completing paperwork
  • Promote Emmaus Hampshire and Emmaus values.

Skills and experience needed

  • Experience of manual handling
  • Van crew experience desirable
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures
  • Teamwork, customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Respect for Emmaus values and our policies
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and a positive, can-do attitude.

Time commitment

Our van crews operate seven days per week and we are looking for new volunteers who can commit between four and eight hours per week (8:45am-5pm).

Locations

The van crew start and finish their day at the Winchester store, but operate between all three stores during the day.

  • As an Emmaus volunteer you will be given an induction when you start
