Four more of our Companions have made the move to sustainable employment and independent living in the first quarter of 2025. This is a tremendous achievement and illustrates the success of our unique approach to homelessness.

Companion Allan has been with us for several years has secured an independent job as a driver. He has also secured accommodation.

Companion Liam, whose musical abilities were highlighted in the media over Christmas, has secured work in the northeast of England with accommodation included.

We also send our best wishes to Companions Toby and Ant, who have secured the independent housing they wanted in Winchester.

Companions Tony and Mick retire

And, finally, a very fond farewell to Companions Tony and Mick.

Tony is looking forward to his new home in retirement.

Tony has lived and worked with us for 17 years. Tony has retired and is now living his best life with his own flat in the St John’s almshouses in Winchester! He will be a hard act to follow.

Mick has also moved on to a retirement home with assisted living support. We wish him well.

Congratulations to all Companions who are moving on up to independent living. You are very different now from the individuals you were when you started at Emmaus. Well done and all the best for the future. We’d love to hear how you get on and hope you will keep in touch.

Our services remain in high demand and their places are soon taken. Despite the large number of leavers, we currently have just one room free in the community.
