It is a purpose-built community that originally provided a home to 24 formerly homeless people. Small developments have increased this number over the years with the current plan aiming to increase that number to 40. Read more about us here.

As well as a home, those living at Emmaus Hampshire also have the opportunity to carry out meaningful work, working in the charity’s shops. This is often the most important factor when it comes to restoring feelings of self-esteem that can be lost when someone becomes homeless.

Emmaus Hampshire has three shops selling donated second-hand goods. One of the shops is at the community at Bar End in Winchester, a second is on Leigh Road in Eastleigh and a third was opened in 2018 in Shirley, Southampton. The money generated is used to support the community.
