Exciting things are happening at our community site in Gloucester!

We are creating a ‘People’s Shed’ which will offer a variety of workshops open to the public and provide a space for people to learn new practical skills, socialise, and make new friends. This project has been inspired by the Men’s Shed Association, which operates community spaces for men to connect and create together to help reduce loneliness and isolation.

During the pandemic, people of all ages have experienced isolation and loneliness in some form. Our People’s Shed has no target audience and will be welcoming anyone who would like to make social connections, share skills and knowledge, make new friends, and have some fun in a different environment.

We are currently in the installation stage of the project, but keen to hear from local creatives who would be interested in running paid or free workshops for the public and the people supported by our charity.  This could be anything from woodworking, upcycling and repair, to arts, crafts, literature, pottery or music.
