Community Accommodation and Training Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. We offer people who have experienced homelessness a place to call home for as long as they need it and meaningful work in our social enterprise.  Living in a stable environment, with the opportunity to gain new skills, helps our residents to regain any lost self-esteem and confidence so they can get back on their feet.

About the role

You will have direct responsibility for the house management of the shared living community accommodation.  You will also provide and arrange personal and professional development training for the residents in preparation to sustain independent living.

You will:

  • Work in conjunction with the residents to budget, develop and provide nutritionally balanced menus for the daily communal meal within the house
  • Provide advice, guidance, and training to residents to ensure that they are equipped to budget, plan and prepare healthy meals in order to sustain independent living
  • Be responsible for all aspects of house management on a day-to-day basis including procurement, budget management, stock management, H&S, maintenance requirements, risk assessments and ensuring that all communal areas and bedrooms are kept to an agreed acceptable standard by the residents
  • As part of the support team, provide an effective and holistic approach towards the wellbeing of the residents and manage any cases of low level anti-social behaviour

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a candidate with catering and budget management experience and the ability to work with, and develop, a diverse range of people.

You will need to have the confidence to take on and resolve difficult and frequently sensitive issues.

You will need to be empathetic and understanding of a wide range of needs and experiences with commitment to environmental sustainability and social development.

What we offer

Salary £22,232 with 33 days holiday (incl bank holidays), group stakeholder pension scheme and mandatory and optional training.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people we support.  Any offer of employment is conditional upon Emmaus Gloucestershire obtaining a Disclosure Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service and in accordance with the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006.
