Emmaus Gloucestershire offers people who have experienced homelessness with a place to call home for as long as they need it and meaningful work in our social enterprise. Living in a stable environment with the opportunity to gain new skills helps companions, as residents are known, to regain any lost self-esteem and confidence so they can get back on their feet.

Our shops are key to the success of our community. Not only does it generate income to maintain our community home of 31, but it gives the people we support with the opportunity to learn new skills and gain valuable work experience. We have shops in Gloucester, Stroud, Cheltenham and Nailsworth all selling quality second-hand items at great prices.

About our Nailsworth shop:

We are seeking a new shop manager for our Nailsworth shop due to our current manager retiring.

Nailsworth is the longest-standing of our five shops and has established a reputation for quality, low prices and friendly service with local customers as well as those who come from far and wide.  Our second Nailsworth shop opposite is a vintage emporium of household and retro items, clothes, pictures and linen. This is the jewel in our crown – and the customer’s chance to enjoy a specialist selection of affordable items. People travel from all corners of Gloucestershire to see the latest additions: from bespoke tables and chairs; to Victorian collectibles and vintage clothes – all perfect for the Gloucestershire country lifestyle.

The successful candidate will be required to manage and work alongside people our charity supports, who are all working towards overcoming homelessness. The shop also benefits from a dedicated team of volunteers to assist.
