We are a dedicated charity committed to addressing the pressing issue of homelessness in our community. Homelessness is a growing crisis, driven by a complex mix of factors, including poverty and economic factors, unaffordable rents and rising housing costs, low income and unemployment, zero-hour contracts, inadequate support for vulnerable groups, personal circumstances including relationship breakdown and family conflict, domestic abuse, mental health, substance misuse, discrimination and lack of support with complex needs. Shockingly, 94% of people facing homelessness have experienced trauma.
At Emmaus Gloucestershire, we’ve seen first-hand how the right support can change lives and have witnessed remarkable transformations amongst our residents. Many individuals who once faced the harsh realities of homelessness are now on the path to stability and self-sufficiency. This progress is because of their resilience, our comprehensive support services and the local businesses that support us in our mission.
How Your Business Can Get Involved
There are many ways your business can support Emmaus Gloucestershire, including:
- Opportunities. Provide training, mentoring, work experience or job opportunities for people supported by Emmaus Gloucestershire.
- Team volunteer day. Team up to make a big impact at our community or charity shops.
- Pro-bono volunteering. Give time or expertise to help with specific charity operations, development and management.
- Corporate donation. Make a one-off donation to support specific projects or an ongoing development to help people supported by our charity to progress.
- Product donation. Donate items for us to use in our community or for us to sell in our charity shops.
- Team collection day. Organise a day to collect items from employees to donate to our charity.
