Christmas is a great time to fundraise.

Have some fun this Christmas with some of our fundraising ideas (or make one of your own) to raise money for Emmaus this December.

Some A-Z ideas to get you started:

A – Advent

  • Commit to taking part in a “24 Day Challenge” during the advent period, it could be 24 days of push ups, squats, walks or being creative etc.

B – Baking

  • Get those festive bakes in – cakes, minced pies, gingerbread – all delicious treats for a bake sale. (*guidance on food safety)

C – Christmas Carols

  • It is proven that singing is good for your mental health! Join in a local choir or Carol Service to get into the spirit of Christmas.

D – Decorate

  • Have a “decorate your work desk” competition using recycled items / materials. Make a small donation to enter, and the winner gets a prize!

E – Elf theme

  • Elf on the shelf, Pin the hat on the elf, dress like an elf – you get the idea!

F – Fancy Dress

  • Pick a festive theme and have a fancy dress party at your office social or family gathering (or go about your weekly shop – you do you!)

G – Games

  • Have yourself a board games or video games tournament – who will be crowned ultimate champion of Monopoly or Mario?

H – Ho, ho, ho!

  • Find a local Santa race – make a super team with the Elves!

I – Ice Ice Baby!

  • Sponsor someone to learn to ice skate or do a set number of laps around the rink in the fastest time!

J – Jumpers

  • A nice and easy idea – the classic Christmas Jumper days (or Ugly Jumper days!) for school or work.

K – Knitting, crochet, other crafting

  • Calling all crafters! Make small items to gift for a small donation.

L – Lights

  • Decorate your windows with festive lights – get your neighbours to take part too! Have a collection for visitors.

M – Mile a day

  • As the days are drawing in, make an effort to walk or run or swim a mile in December – you can do it during lunch times to get out into some fresh air and daylight.

N – Non uniform day

  • You can also Dress Up or find a theme to make it more fun!

O – Online Christmas Shopping

  • Go through a charity cashback site like easyfundraising  – this provides a free way to raise money for a good cause or charity when you shop online. Just search for Emmaus UK.

P – Poster

  • Christmas Bauble poster – Donate a minimum of £1 to write a message on this poster instead of sending round Christmas cards

Q – Quiz Nights

  • Get those thinking caps on – who doesn’t want to pretend they are on Mastermind?

R –Reverse advent

  • Donate one item a day to go to a food bank or your local Emmaus community.

S – Secret Santa

  • Agree to donate £1 (or more) out of the secret Santa gift budget to Emmaus!

T – Treasure hunts

  • Set up your own team building treasure hunt in your local area.

U – Used item sale

  • Have a bit of a clear out ready for the season and donate the proceeds.

X – Xmas fairs

  • Set up a Christmas fair at school or church or local community centre.

Y – Year ahead
