We have launched our Blessing Bag appeal, calling on the community to donate essential winter items for people sleeping rough in the local area this Christmas.
Donated items will be packed into red outreach bags and distributed to those facing extreme hardship.
We work year-round to transform lives by offering people who have experienced homelessness a stable home, personalised support, meaningful work, and the opportunity to rebuild confidence and skills. Companions, the people we support, play an active role in our social enterprises, helping to create a positive, purpose-led community.
We are asking for donations of the following essential items:
Clothing items can be new or preloved, but all second-hand items must be clean, undamaged, and suitable to wear. For hygiene reasons, we can only accept new toiletries and cannot take food, drinks, or perishable goods.
Gerry Golden, Retail Manager at Emmaus Dover, said:
“We are reaching out to our incredible supporters to help us protect those sleeping rough this winter. Donations of simple, yet vital items, from warm socks to toiletries, truly make a difference. Each Blessing Bag offers not only practical support but also a message of care to people facing the harshest time of year.”
Donations can be delivered until 17 December to:
Emmaus Dover, Archcliffe Fort, Archcliffe Road, Dover, CT17 9EL.
