On 24 June a team from Emmaus Dover joined in the KM Charity Walk.- a 10 mile sponsored ramble across the Kent countryside.

Our large team included 14 walkers altogether, with 11 companions, one volunteer and two staff members. Three of the companions walked the five mile route and the rest of us completed 10 miles – we’re so proud of everyone who took part!

The annual charity walk attracted 250 participants overall and raised £15k supporting 25 causes.

It was a tiring but enjoyable day – lovely weather but my was it hot! Some of us suffered with blisters but despite the heat, we all powered through to reach the finish line with smiles on on our faces. Our companions are even planning to take part in more of these sort of fundraising walks in future.

All our sponsorship funds will go towards our Building a Better Future appeal – which is hoping to raise enough money to rebuild part of our Emmaus Dover Archcliffe Fort shop, as it is falling down and beyond repair.

Even though the walk has now finished, you can still sponsor our team until the end of July 2018. Please do so by visiting our Virgin Moneygiving page today.

Many thanks for your support.
