We are asking for support from the South East business community to help provide a bed and personal support services to our companions – formerly homeless people who live and work at Emmaus Dover at the Archcliffe Fort community. With homelessness on the rise, the need to support homeless people especially in the coastal regions has never been greater.
The average cost of housing and supporting a companion at Dover Emmaus for 12 months is £10,000. We are offering the opportunity for local businesses to join our ‘sponsor a bed’ campaign to provide the accommodation for a homeless person/persons for 12 months with a sponsorship of £5,000. Emmaus Dover will supply all the support, training services and
employment opportunites for the occupant of your sponsored bed.
Over the past 20 years Emmaus Dover has grown from supporting one companion to 27 people at any one time. We now have three retail outlets, warehouses and workshops in
Dover and Canterbury,
We are asking for donations from local businesses and individuals for our ‘Sponsor a Bed’ campaign. The donations will help us provide not just the accommodation but all the other training and personal support services which formerly homeless people living at Emmaus Dover will need to rebuild their lives and eventually move on to live independently again.
All our sponsors receive updates on their sponsored beds and their logos appear on our promotional material. Our sponsors are also welcome to come along to the Archcliffe Fort to
see the community in action and we frequently give presentations on our work and individual success stories.
