This morning, the lovely team at HSBC delivered a generous donation of toiletries and warm clothing to help our companions stay cosy during the chilly winter months.
We would like to say a massive thank you to HSBC for this donation, and for their ongoing support this year. These kind efforts mean so much to us here at Emmaus Dover!
Andy Weaver, Retail Branch Manager at HSBC, said: “The last 18 months have been so rewarding, being a dedicated branch that supports two local charities in Dover. One of those charities is Emmaus, which helps formerly homeless people get their lives back on track.
I met Karen, Emmaus Dover’s Fundraising Manager, for coffee back in February. We spoke about how HSBC could support them this year, and that’s where our idea was hatched. Like many things in 2020, COVID has impacted how we can help, but last Friday, HSBC staff wore hats and scarves to raise awareness of World Homeless Day. Our next step was to donate warm clothing and toiletries to homelessness charities in the local area and, today, we’ve been able to deliver these items to our friends at Emmaus Dover.”
