Emmaus has been asked to host a special remembrance event to honour four servicemen who were killed clearing mines left on Shakespeare Beach during World War Two, at an event open to all.

Visitors coming to Archcliffe Fort on Saturday 31st August at 1pm will be able to hear from the families from one of the men, see standards fly and hear a bugler and the Queens Regimental Association Corps of Drummers.

Emmaus Dover supporter and local historian Phil Eyden organised the memorial ceremony and will give a short talk. You can read more of the story on our news page here.
