This November, Assistant Provincial Grand Master W Bro Martyn Summers accompanied by the Provincial Grand Charity Steward W. Bro Brian Ward from the Kent Mark Benevolent Fund (KMBF) visited Archcliffe Fort to present us with a cheque to support our work.

The £1,000 donation has been used to refurbish two companion bedrooms which had been badly damaged during a leak. Martyn presented the cheque to Community Manager Debbie, and then spoke with us about the work the KMBF does in the local community, as well as the support received from Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Lodges.

Debbie said: We are so grateful to the members of the Kent Mark Benevolent Fund for supporting Emmaus Dover. The grant of £1,000 enabled us to redecorate and refurbish two companion bedrooms which we had not been able to use for several months due to external issues with damp and leaking windows. Having both rooms back in use has meant that we can now provide accommodation, support and meaningful work opportunities for even more previously homeless men and women.”

Before departing Martyn and Brian were given a guided tour of our Archcliffe Fort site,  including the refurbished accommodation area, the shop, warehouse and our newly opened workshops where our companions breathe new life back into preloved furniture.

We are very grateful to KMBF for their generous donation.
