Exciting plans to restore and redevelop our site at Archcliffe Fort are starting to come to fruition with an exclusive look at the future site (see below).

Due to the historic nature of the Fort, the buildings are due for some much-needed TLC in order to bring them up to a standard that our 27 companions would be proud to call their home.

As a result of the building work we have come to realise that this is the perfect opportunity to develop the site as a whole to make it a destination for new visitors to explore and enjoy the amazing views, whilst also learning about the history of Dover and the Fort. This will allow us to continue to increase our capacity to offer current and future companions a platform on which to build new lives.

Lawrence, a companion at Emmaus Dover said: “I have come on leaps and bounds in the time that I’ve been at Emmaus Dover. I’m very much involved in the whole community. I work in the warehouse and in the shop and I’m a qualified PAT tester. I like the variety; it keeps me moving – it keeps me alive. I am happy and grounded here; Emmaus Dover have done more for me than I can ever imagine.”

For people like Lawrence, Emmaus Dover has provided a home for as long as he needs it, as well as meaningful work in our three shops in AshfordCanterbury and Dover.

If you would like to help us achieve our plans to restore and redevelop our site at Archcliffe Fort and continue to provide a home for those who need it the most, please donate to our Building a Better Future fundraising appeal.
