On Tuesday 3rd March, kind volunteers from the University of Warwick will once again host their annual ‘Disco Soup’ event in Coventry.

Held on Broadgate in Coventry City Centre from 10am to 3pm, the event aims to educate people on the amount of food surplus which ends up in the bin when it can still be used and what can be done to tackle food wastage. Donated food that is edible but which would otherwise have ended up as waste, will be used to make litres of vegan soup. This will be given away to passers-by on a Pay As You Feel basis with donations going to our charity Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire.

The event, organised by university societies RAWKUS and Climate Reality Campus Corps alongside Warwick’s Conferences and Sustainability Teams, will form part of city-wide Green Week 2020. More events across Coventry and Leamington Spa can be found at www.greenweek.coventry.domains and on Facebook @GreenWeek2020

If you can, please go along to support this fabulous idea, and enjoy some warming soup!
