We’re extremely grateful to a team of staff at Coventry Building Society who have raised £7,450 over the past two years to help Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire.
The Risk Team at the Coventry-based business selected Emmaus as their Community Partner – a local cause that the team work with to raise funds and awareness for the work they do.
The Coventry Building Society team’s fundraising efforts included active challenges such as TrekFest – a gruelling 25km hike over the hills of the Peak District, and a 10km sponsored Wolf Run. The team distributed collection boxes around their office building to encourage donations of items to sell in our charity shop on Red Lane in Coventry. Staff also took part in volunteering days, helping to redecorate our accommodation buildings.
Speaking about their fundraising success Ella Severs, Credit Risk Analyst at Coventry Building Society said:
“It has been amazing to support such a worthwhile charity and one which is based in our local community, just round the corner from our offices.
“The team at Emmaus do a great job supporting those who are going through times of difficulty. The way they help people move forward with their lives by providing a roof over their heads as well as meaningful work is incredible. Our efforts not only benefitted Emmaus, but also gave our staff the opportunity to have fun team-building days away from our desks, with a really rewarding outcome. A personal highlight from the partnership was taking part in our sponsored 100km walk in summer 2018. It was incredibly challenging but we were able to raise a fantastic £1,850 from this event alone!”
We’re incredibly grateful to the Coventry Building Society team for their amazing efforts and impressive amount raised. Their support has helped ensure we’re able to continue to work with those who need it most. The problem of homelessness is more pressing than ever and communities need to work together to support those most in need.
