We’re really pleased to announce that Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire companions have recently raised vital funds for other charities.
Our companions – the people we support, who have all faced homelessness in the past – organised a collection for two important charities: Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Coventry, which provides specialized care for poorly babies and infants, and Mind Coventry and Warwickshire which supports mental health initiatives.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our charity shop customers who donated money to the collection and helped raise £158 for Zoe’s Place and £102 for Mind! These funds will directly support the fantastic work these charities do in our local area.
It’s moments like these that really show the heart of Emmaus—people coming together to make a difference and supporting others. ‘Solidarity’ is central to the Emmaus ethos. This is when our companions ‘pay it forward’ by helping other people in need.
The act of solidarity can be very powerful for Emmaus companions as it is often central to rebuilding lost self-esteem, proving that everyone has the capacity to make a difference to the lives of others.
We’re so proud of everyone involved and grateful to our customers for their ongoing support.
