On Friday 26 February, Emmaus UK president Terry Waite CBE joined Tiffany Truscott on the BBC Radio Cornwall Evenings show to discuss his upcoming online event in aid of Emmaus Cornwall, as well as lockdown, his time in captivity and how valuable an Emmaus community will be in Cornwall. Listen back to his interview from 37:06 on BBC Sounds.
We’re working towards setting up the first Emmaus community in Cornwall, which will offer people who have been homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless, a place to call home for as long as they need it, work experience in a social enterprise, daily support and funded training.
To help us set up our community, we recently announced a £1million fundraising target and series of online events with bestselling author Cathy Rentzenbrink.
On Thursday 11 March at 7pm, Terry Waite will be joining Cathy for a live discussion and Q&A session, with all proceeds going to Emmaus Cornwall. To book your place, visit here.
