Exclusive livestream event: Raynor Winn in conversation with Cathy Rentzenbrink, in aid of homelessness charity Emmaus Cornwall

Date: 21/01/2021                    Time: 7pm

Ticket price: £10

Bestselling author, Raynor Winn, is holding an exclusive Q&A session and online book reading of her second memoir, in aid of Emmaus Cornwall.

Following her Sunday Times bestselling book, The Salt Path, Raynor returns with her highly anticipated sequel, to explore the harsh reality of returning to mainstream life after a period of homelessness.

Raynor will be discussing her second memoir, The Wild Silence, in conversation with fellow Sunday Times bestselling author, Cathy Rentzenbrink, to help raise money for our charity.

Raynor will read excerpts from her new book, discuss them with Cathy, and answer participant questions in an exclusive online Q&A.

As a new trustee of Emmaus Cornwall, Raynor is committed to highlighting the homelessness situation in Cornwall and helping the charity to raise funds to establish the first Emmaus community in Cornwall.

Raynor said:

“There is a very real homelessness issue in Cornwall which is becoming ever more pressing. Emmaus Cornwall plans to create much-needed long-term residential communities which will be incredibly valuable. I am so proud to become a trustee as we embark on our new fundraising plan – we aim to raise £1 million towards the first community and I am delighted to kick off our efforts with this event.”

Emmaus communities provide a unique residential setting for people who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless, and offer a home with no time limit, work experience in a social enterprise, daily support and funded training to help people rebuild their lives.

Cathy, the author of The Last Act of Love, A Manual for Heartache and Dear Reader: The Comfort and Joy of Books, said:

“It is an honour to support Emmaus Cornwall and a great pleasure to talk to Raynor Winn about her beautiful books.”

The event will be hosted by Emmaus Cornwall and takes place at 7pm on 21 January 2021. Each ticket purchased will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win one of ten copies of Raynor’s book, The Wild Silence, and a set of Cathy’s three books.*
