Please join us for a volunteering session to collect tree seeds at our tree nursery at Trewoon, near St Austell. We will be running sessions every Monday and Friday in September and October and no past experience is necessary! It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, have fun, learn about plants and trees, and enjoy the great outdoors!
Monday sessions will focus on collecting seeds and Friday sessions will be all about stratifying and sewing seeds. All seeds will be planted at our nursery, which will be home to thousands of native broadleaf trees thanks to the help of our volunteers. We will sell the trees and plants to local organisations to help fight climate change and provide vital funds for our charity – Emmaus Cornwall – seeking to remove homelessness in Cornwall.
Free car parking is available.
Our Tree Nursery Manager Julie will be on site from 10:30am and volunteers are welcome to arrive any time from then and stay for any length of time.
Please wear strong shoes and suitable clothing. We will decide our walking route on the day to accommodate the needs of all our volunteers. Please also bring water/soft drinks with you, and you may want to consider bringing some snacks or lunch in case you get hungry! We have a lovely refurbished caravan on site for volunteers to take a break in and a toilet on site.
If you would like to attend, please email Julie on emmauscomm[email protected] or call 078308 63073 to confirm your place.
On the day, please contact Julie on the number above if you can’t find us and need directions!
