Please join us for a volunteering session to collect tree seeds at the beautiful and peaceful Trewithen Gardens.

Sessions take place every Thursday starting from 28th September until the end of October. Rod, one of our trustees, will be leading the sessions and will be at the main car park at 10:30am to meet volunteers. No past experience is necessary! It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, have fun, learn about plants and trees, and enjoy the great outdoors!

All seeds we collect during the session will be stratified and planted at our nursery near St Austell, which will be home to thousands of native broadleaf trees thanks to the help of our volunteers. We will sell the trees and plants to local organisations to help fight climate change and provide vital funds for our charity – Emmaus Cornwall – seeking to remove homelessness in Cornwall.

  • Date: Every Thursday starting 28th September until end of October
  • Time: From 10.30am
  • Location: Trewithen Gardens, Grampound Road, Near Truro, Cornwall, TR2 4DD.
  • Meeting point: cark park at 10:30am

Free car parking is available.

Please wear strong shoes and suitable clothing. Trewithen Gardens is disabled-friendly, has level paths and toilets. We will decide our walking route on the day to accommodate the needs of all our volunteers. Please also bring water/soft drinks with you, and you may want to consider bringing some snacks in case you get hungry as we walk! The on-site café at Trewithen Gardens will be open and sells a range of dishes made with local produce, perfect for a treat after volunteering.

If you would like to attend, please email Rod on [email protected] or call 078308 63073 to confirm your place. You are welcome to join us for one, a few, or all of the sessions!

On the day, please contact Rod on the number above if you can’t find us and need directions!
