Please join us for a volunteering session to collect tree seeds at Trelissick, near Truro, which is home to a welcoming house and garden set in an estate with stunning maritime views and lovely woodland walks.
Our Tree Nursery Manager Julie will be leading the sessions and will be at the main car park at 10:30am every Wednesday in September and October to meet volunteers. No past experience is necessary! It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, have fun, learn about plants and trees, and enjoy the great outdoors!
All seeds we collect during the session will be stratified and planted at our nursery near St Austell, which will be home to thousands of native broadleaf trees thanks to the help of our volunteers. We will sell the trees and plants to local organisations to help fight climate change and provide vital funds for our charity – Emmaus Cornwall – seeking to remove homelessness in Cornwall.
Pay and display parking is available for non-National Trust members, and free parking for members. To find out more, visit: www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/cornwall/trelissick
Please wear strong shoes and suitable clothing for the session. We will decide our walking route on the day to accommodate the needs of all our volunteers. Please also bring water/soft drinks with you, and you may want to consider bringing some snacks or lunch in case you get hungry! Trelissick has toilets available opposite the visitor reception, plus a plant shop, book shop and café on-site, perfect for a post-volunteering treat.
If you would like to attend, please email Julie on [email protected] or call 078308 63073 to confirm your place. You are welcome to join us for one, a few, or all sessions!
On the day, please contact Julie on the number above if you can’t find us and need directions!
