Across the country National Gardening Week is being celebrated (26 April  2 May). This year the theme, ‘Get Your Dose of Vitamin G’ has been chosen by The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) to encourage the nation to celebrate the feel-good power of gardens by taking a few minutes each day to connect with nature.

At Emmaus Colchester companions have been busy upcycling timber into garden planters, which have been planted with pansies, kindly donated by Colchester In Bloom. Adam is one of the companions who has worked on the project and appreciates the benefits of getting outside and enjoying nature, understanding that a daily dose of Vitamin G has a positive impact on our personal wellbeing.

Adam at Community House

While some Emmaus communities are based in rural locations, with outside allotment and generous garden space, Emmaus Colchester is based in an urban location with a small green lawn at the community house. But despite the small plot, the companions have proved that it’s still possible to get your daily dose of Vitamin G

If you’re inspired to get out in your garden this National Gardening Week we have a range of garden tools and garden furniture for sale at The Works on Osborne Street.

By subscribing you will receive regular updates and news from Emmaus Colchester. We will never sell or distribute your information to a third party.
